In this study, we try to categorize and classify the previous cases of university-regional cooperation. Based on this, we will deepen our discussion on the future collaboration between the Settaya district and Nagaoka Institute of Design （hereinafter NID）. At the same time, we conduct a experiment and a survey to find the possibility of uses of Settaya area . The experiment is a challenge of upcycle prototyping by using abundant goods at Settaya area designed by NID students. And basic awareness survey among participants of citizen workshop at NID are conducted. All those works are recognized as the basic study to understand some potentials of Settaya-NID cooperation.
